Step 1: Find the 3 notes with lists of 3-letter words

Step 2: Arrange the letters in the order PUMPKIN-CAT-SPIDER

Step 3: Decode the Message

PRESS ONLY THE VOWELS OF THE WRETCHED CRONE AND THE OPPOSITE OF ALL THE DEAD.

Step 4: Use the keypad on the control panel

The message instructs you to press all the vowels of the wretched crone. The WITCH is the one who fits that description, so pressing the I in WITCH will fulfill that part of the message.

Then, doing the opposite for ALL THE DEAD means pressing all the consonants of GHOST since CLOWNS are not dead. Additionally, there was a hint on the box that said NO CLOWNS, so you can ignore CLOWN. Pressing all the consonants in GHOST results in G, H, S, T being pressed.
